In 2019, a 17-year-old student from Nagpur visited us with progressive vision loss that glasses couldn’t correct. Struggling with his studies and frequent prescription changes, his condition had already led to 50% vision loss when diagnosed by our expert cornea specialist.

After a thorough evaluation using Corneal Topography, he was diagnosed with keratoconus, which weakens and distorts the cornea, commonly affecting young adults. This debilitating condition required immediate intervention.

Our Approach:

2019: He underwent Collagen Cross-Linking (CXL) for his right eye, a revolutionary treatment that halts the progression of keratoconus.
2020: A specialized DALK procedure (cornea transplant) was performed for his advanced left eye.
Post-surgery, customized contact lenses improved his vision to 6/6—restoring his ability to see clearly and live fully.

5 Years Later:

Today, with regular follow-ups and specialized care, he enjoys excellent vision using RGP lenses and leads a better quality of life. His journey is a testament to how timely diagnosis and advanced treatments can change lives.
