Dr. Nikhilesh Wairagade is the Medical Superintendent and Senior Consultant at Mahatma Eye Bank & Eye Hospital, Nagpur, specializing in cataract, cornea, and refractive surgeries. An alumnus of GMC Nagpur and KEM Mumbai, he further trained as a Cornea Fellow at Sankara Nethralaya. With over 15 years of experience, he is renowned for advanced procedures like LASIK, keratoplasty, and complex cataract surgeries. He also leads academic and fellowship programs, contributing significantly to clinical research and surgical training.
Dr. Nikhilesh Wairagade specializes in advanced LASIK and refractive surgeries, keratoconus management, corneal transplants including lamellar keratoplasty, ocular surface reconstruction, and complex cataract surgeries with premium IOL implantation. He is also experienced in managing dry eye disorders and performing high-precision phacoemulsification.
Dr. Nikhilesh Wairagade completed his MBBS from GMC Nagpur, MS in Ophthalmology from KEM Mumbai, and pursued a Cornea Fellowship at Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai.
Dr. Wairagade has authored over 15 publications in peer-reviewed journals, focusing on cataract surgery, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and keratoconus. His notable research includes corneal collagen crosslinking for progressive keratoconus.
